DENISE (GREENWOOD) ROGERS
Denise (Greenwood) Rogers-
began dancing at the age of 3 at The Jean Kettell Studio of Dance in Dundalk, studying ballet, tap, jazz and pointe. She has performed at The Preakness Opening Show with Bob Hope and on tour with George Goebel's Magic Show. She is a 1982 graduate of Patapsco High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top 5 % of her class.

In 1983, Denise auditioned and was accepted for the touring company of The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes and their Oldsmobile promotional tour. She performed with the Rockettes in New York, Chicago, Dallas and Las Vegas.
From 1983 to present, Denise has taught at many private studios as well as many recreation councils, including: Bear Creek Rec, Gray Charles Rec (the Shirley Darling Dancers), Parkville Rec, Dance Foundations and Arabesque Dance Studios (Columbia), Wally Saunders/Lester Holmes Studio (Pikesville), Baltimore Dance Center (Essex) , The Susan Ina Dance Studio (Linthicum) and as a guest teacher/choreographer for numerous studios throughout Maryland.
From 1983 to present, Denise has taught at many private studios as well as many recreation councils, including: Bear Creek Rec, Gray Charles Rec (the Shirley Darling Dancers), Parkville Rec, Dance Foundations and Arabesque Dance Studios (Columbia), Wally Saunders/Lester Holmes Studio (Pikesville), Baltimore Dance Center (Essex) , The Susan Ina Dance Studio (Linthicum) and as a guest teacher/choreographer for numerous studios throughout Maryland.
In 1993, Denise began a collaboration with Sherri Anderson to work as the ballet mistress for the Lyric Opera House's productions of The Nutcracker Ballet with The Charleston Ballet in 1994 and The Indianapolis Ballet in 1995. Sherri's daughter, Peyton List, began private lessons with Denise to help with her competition experience but also with her acting and modeling career. Peyton is now an accomplished television star, having worked for 3 years on As The World Turns as Lucy Montgomery, numerous television appearances, the Disney film, "The Greatest Game Ever Played," and most recently can be seen on the ABC hit show, "Big Shots."
In 1999, Denise began working on the competitive business side of dance-first with the competition, Starpower, and then with Star Systems/ Shock the Intensive. She toured the country with both of these companies for 8 years. During her employment with Star Systems, she coordinated dancers from across the country to present the opening number of The Choreographer's Carnival in Hollywood, CA.
In 2000, Denise began working with the Dance Magnet program at Patapsco High School and returns to choreograph and guest teach every year. In 2007, Denise choreographed 4 routines for the spring dance concert including, for the first time ever, an Alumni Dance piece that included dancers from the first year of the program to the present year. In 2011, the Patapsco Dance Magnet and Royal Performing Arts Center collaborated on a full-scale Nutcracker production, and her choreography is still used in the yearly production at the school.
